Van Life and a Small Business
Share
By the time the deep spring has shined upon us, we will be packed up and resourcefully planned to take both the family and the small business alike to the great adventures that await out west.
The plan is to make our way to Wyoming by way of South Dakota. This was a very significant path to us on our previous journey out west, and something about that magic has been begging us to come back.
This time around we’re not only introducing our son to the ways of the road, but also our family business. We are in the makings of plans to attend week-long festivals, and to visit several shops along the way. The greater part of that sentiment is the fact that you cannot really plan magic, it just sort of finds you when you let it.
I can recall a specific time of magic a few years back when we were traveling through Black Hills, South Dakota, which is one of the most magical places to ever have existed. We had pulled our car to the side of the road simply because a peculiar and turbulent creek was loudly calling to us. That would lead us to meeting a kind and random friend whose encounter eventually lead us to Unity festival. That was a very low key but wonderfully special gathering of Native Americans and supporters to assemble before protesting the pipeline a while back. We met Peter Yarrow there from Peter, Paul, and Mary out there.
Now, our little piece of magic is coming with us to be shared on another incredible journey. The only thing the remains is the deeper amount of planning that you have to put into it when you’re not just a carefree couple living on the road. We have a lot of inventory to transport and a lot of consideration for where to stay at night. We might be rustic for a while, but at least we’ll have Earth Berry Apothecary soaps along for the journey. Here are a few of the scents we love to travel with:
